Voortrekkersinsigne / embleem / schildje van het KNIL, periode 1945-1946. Geverfd metaal met de Koningkroon boven ‘NIL’, tussen de jaartallen 1945 en 1946.

The Royal Dutch East Indies Army (KNIL) was part of the Dutch Armed Forces. Since 1814 they protected the interests in the Dutch colony ‘Dutch East Indies’ (now modern Indonesia). This insignia was worn by members of the KNIL who voluntarily stayed until 1946, after the surrender of Japan in 1945.
